Country Defender's Day (February, 23) |
|
|
Military men celebrated Day of Soviet Army on the 23rd of February. After Perestroika it was renamed to "Country Defender's Day". This date soon became not only military holiday, but the day when Russian women make gifts to men. Even boys at elementary school receive small presents from schoolgirls, and two weeks later, on the 8th of March they compliment girls.
